It went for about 20 seconds then there was a big vibration like a heavy truck was driving in the yard. Then the windows started shaking and I felt a vibrating rumble go under the house. I was lying on my bed, I felt it through my body.

Humpty Doo / MMI II (Very weak shaking): Laying in bed and felt it rock slightly. Thought it was husband moving in his sleep but he was dead still. Searched internet for earthquakes near Darwin (we are in Humpty Doo) and found there was a small earthquake in Tennant Creek at 2100. I felt movement at 2125. Is that possible?

Gladesville, Sydney NSW (161.2 km S from epicenter) / not felt: I recorded this earthquake on my seismograph here in Gladesville Sydney. Both the P and S waves can be clearly seen in the seismogram.

muswellbrook (2.8 km SW from epicenter) / MMI VI (Strong shaking): The noise woke me, I thought my bedroom window would blow in. The rumble came from the west and I knew immediately what was happening. It felt like a magnitude 4 and was quite frightening because it felt so close. I live in Woolybutt Way.
(8.6 km NNE from epicenter) / MMI V (Moderate shaking): I was already awake then the bed started to shake. In kind of a rumbling shaking motion. My dog even growled. I have felt it like this before!
