The eruption at Etna continues with strombolian activity from two vents in the upper part of the May 13 fissure and the emission of a lava flow into Valle del Bove.

The eruption at Etna volcano continues and has even increased slightly, according to observations during our recent tour (7-15 June) and informataion from INGV Catania. Two vents on the May13 fissure continue to display weak to moderate strombolian activity and feed an active lava flow into Valle del Bove, with fronts reaching 1900 m elevation, NE of the Monti Centenari.
dom, 8 jun 2008, 08:13
As INGV Catania reports, the mild strombolian activity and small effusion of lava from the 13 May eruptive fissure continue.

Over the last days, the activity at the May 13 eruptive fissure has been slighlty increasing. Charles Rivière reports lava fountaining took place at the upper vents of the fissure during the night of 4-5 June.

Although further decreasing, ash and lava emissions are still continuing from the new fissure vents at the E base of SE cone.
lun, 19 may 2008, 08:58
Lava and ash emissions continue although at very low levels. The violent fissure eruption that started on May 13 from an originally 600 m long east-trending fissure parting from the NE base of the SE crater at around 2900 m elevation decreased surprisingly quickly in intensity. It seems to be coming to a soon end, although a weak emission of lava continues at present. ...màs leer todo

From field observations by Rosario, the beginning of a large new eruption at Etna is confirmed. Following the intense tremor, a fissure has opened NE of the SE crater, about 800m long, and erupting from about 15 vents with spectacular bubbles and hawaiian lava fountains. The lava is very fluid and forms impressive flows into the Valle del Bove. ...màs
