Dukono volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia): Nov 2014

Impressions from our volcano tour to Dukono volcano in November 2014. We camped at Dukono volcano during 8-10 Nov 2014. The volcano's activity, typical for the recent years, at moderate levels, consisted in continuous mild to moderate ash emissions from two or three vents in the crater.

View into the crater - continuous ash emissions did not permit clear views of the two or three active vents. Only strong hissing degassing noises and sounds of falling ejecta near the vents could be heard. (Photo: Tom Pfeiffer)
