Mount Rainier volcano (Washington, USA) activity update: M 2.4 shallow earthquake beneath the north rim of East Crater on 13 Sep

Un terremoto de 2,4 m ocurrió debajo de la cima del Monte Rainier en 08:45 PDT, el 13 de septiembre y fue seguido por una docena de réplicas durante los siguientes minutos ~ 20.
Según la red sísmica del noroeste del Pacífico (, el terremoto de 2.4 m fue ubicado debajo del borde norte del cráter oriental a una profundidad de ~2.7 km. Esos terremotos, aunque no es común, no son también sin precedentes en Mount Rainier--M > 2 terremotos ocurren aproximadamente una vez al año en promedio por debajo de la Cumbre de Rainiero, con la más reciente es un 2.9 m el 14 de octubre de 2011 y un 2.2 m el 25 de octubre de 2011.
