Glow from the crater this evening
The volcano has been very active during the past days. Yesterday, 3 explosions occurred that produced ash plumes that rose up to 12,000 ft (4 km) altitude.
At night, constant glow is visible from the summit crater Minamidake.
Seismic and degassing activity are also elevated, suggesting that magma continues to rise inside the volcano.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recorded at the Minamidake summit crater 14 eruptions and 9 explosions
detected by the seismic network and 73 volcanic earthquakes and 63 tremors
associated with the eruptions during the period 21-25 Feb 2020.
Incandescence continues to be observed from the crater. ...
