Light earthquake of magnitude 4.2 just reported 6 km south of Curup, Indonesia

Just 9 minutes ago, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Curup, Bengkulu, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Thursday 17 December 2020 at 9:17 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Curup (pop. 46,200) located 6 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Bengkulu (pop. 309,700) located 42 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Lubuklinggau (pop. 148,200) located 45 km from the epicenter, and Pagar Alam (pop. 70,400) 98 km away.
