Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN) reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Mexico near Ciudad de Huajuapan de Leon, Heroica Ciudad de Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca, only 21 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Thursday 8 April 2021 at 12:00 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 61 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.4 as well.
