A moderately shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported early morning near Eureka, Humboldt County, California, USA.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Tuesday 20 April 2021 at 2:48 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 19 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.9 as well.

Garberville CA / Weak shaking (MMI III) / complex motion difficult to describe / 1-2 s : My adrenaline spiked as my second story room sounded bassy and shook. At onset I felt my sense of gravity become muddied like I was in an elevator. | 7 users found this interesting.
