India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported a magnitude 4.3 quake in Pakistan near Ishqoshim, Ishkoshim, Gorno-Badakhshan, only 18 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Thursday 20 May 2021 at 12:09 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Ashkāsham (pop. 12,100) located 60 km from the epicenter, and Ishqoshim (pop. 26,000) 67 km away.
