Just 10 minutes ago, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Delhi, Vera Cruz, Dili, Timor-Leste. The tremor was recorded early morning on Sunday 13 June 2021 at 4:35 am local time, at a shallow depth of 26 km below the surface.
The event was filed by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.6.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Delhi (pop. 150,000) located 36 km from the epicenter, Manatuto (pop. 1,900) 38 km away, Gleno (pop. 8,100) 59 km away, Maubara (pop. 16,300) 70 km away, and Venilale (pop. 16,000) 80 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Baucau (pop. 16,000) located 80 km from the epicenter, Ainaro (pop. 12,000) 83 km away, Viqueque (pop. 6,100) 92 km away, and mariana (pop. 22,000) 97 km away.
