An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred only 21 minutes ago 25 km northwest of Piura, Peru, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 46 km beneath the epicenter near Piura, Provincia de Piura, Peru, early morning on Saturday 17 July 2021 at 1:44 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
