Moderate 4.2 quake hits near Ishinomaki, Ishinomaki Shi, Miyagi, Japan

A moderately shallow magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported early morning near Ishinomaki, Ishinomaki Shi, Miyagi, Japan.
According to Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED), the quake hit on Monday, September 13th, 2021, at 1:36 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 36.6 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.2 earthquake as well.
