Seismic-like event, possible earthquake, reported few minutes ago near Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico
We are receiving unverified early reports of ground shaking possibly caused by seismic activity in or near Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico on 19 Apr 2022 (GMT) at approximately 12:44 GMT.
There are no details yet on the magnitude or depth of this possible quake. If confirmed, we can expect more accurate data to emerge in the next few minutes. The location, magnitude and time mentioned are indicative, based on our best-fit seismic model. It was shorter duration and shaking was less sideways movement. Like shaking the trunk of a tree as opposed to shaking a tray of sand | One user found this interesting.

Playa Capire near El Roble / Very strong shaking (MMI VII) / vibration and rolling / 10-15 s : Loud boom and vibration then shifted one direction then the other another, not as loud but another boom then one clear big roll. We were camping outside. The trees shook, my boyfriend was abruptly awakened and I saw the ground shift and roll.

At Bay View Grand Residential in Ixtapa. 14th floo / Light shaking (MMI IV) / horizontal (sideways) swinging / 2-5 s : Light shaking, bed moved, I was still sleeping. My husband was in the kitchen and the dishes rattled and he felt the building sway. We are on the 14th floor.
