A magnitude 3.3 earthquake near Porspoder, Finistère, Bretagne, France, was reported only 21 minutes ago by France's Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 22.8 km beneath the epicenter in the morning on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at 7:06 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Porspoder (pop. 1,700, 65 km away), Saint-Renan (pop. 7,200, 77 km away), Plouzane (pop. 13,100, 79 km away), and Rd pt des Chataigniers, Rte de Milizac, Guilers, Finistère, France (pop. 8,000, 81 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
