Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 2.8.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Aspen Springs (pop. 65) located 4 miles from the epicenter, and Mammoth Lakes (pop. 7,900) 13 miles away. In West Bishop (pop. 2,600, 22 miles away), Dixon Lane-Meadow Creek (pop. 2,600, 23 miles away), and Big Pine (pop. 1,800, 38 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
