An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred early morning on Sunday 18 July 2021 at 1:21 am local time near Iwaki, Iwaki-shi, Fukushima, Japan, as reported by Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED).

According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a moderately shallow depth of 52.2 km.
