Moderate magnitude 4.3 quake hits 100 km southwest of Pacocha, Peru early morning

A moderately shallow magnitude 4.3 earthquake was reported early morning near Pacocha, Provincia de Ilo, Departamento de Moquegua, Peru.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Saturday, September 11th, 2021, at 5:11 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 35 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.3 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Pacocha (pop. 7,600) located 100 km from the epicenter, and Ilo (pop. 53,500) 101 km away.
