Taal Volcano (Luzon, Philippines): weekly volcanic activity report 29 Jan-4 Feb 2020

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions from Taal volcano on 5 February (image: PHIVOLCS)PHIVOLCS reported that during 29 January-4 February surveillance cameras observed a white steam plume which reached approx. 3,645 ft (1,111 m) altitude and drifted SW.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 231 tonnes/day.
According to the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) there were a total of 23,915 people in 152 evacuation centers, and an additional 224,188 people were staying at other locations as of 3 February.
The Alert Level remained at 3 (on a scale of 0-5).
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 7 km distance from the main crater.
