Etna volcano update: Magnitude 4 earthquake hits Etna's east flank

Seismic activity at Etna is significant. The largest quake today so far has been a magnitude 4 quake at 2 km depth, at 13:09 local time, and widely felt around in the area.
Location of the magnitude 4 quake earlier today under Etna volcano
It was most certainly associated with the opening of the new eruptive fissure below the SE crater.
