A probably larger than normal explosion today at Batu Tara produced an ash plume spotted on satellite images drifting at 8,000 ft altitude (2,4 km).

Strong strombolian explosion from the active crater of Batu Tara on 25 Nov 2012
A group of VolcanoDiscovery visited Batu Tara volcano from 24-29 November. Another explosion was detected today from the volcano with ash at 8,000 ft (2.4 km).

After some days with no reported ash plumes, new explosions occurred at Batu Tara today and sent an ash plume to 8,000 ft (2.4 km) altitude.
