Introduction
Chiracha (also spelled Chericha) is a rhyolitic stratovolcano located on the Wonji fault belt NE of Lake Abaya. All rift zone volcanoes are thought to be Pleistocene-to-Holocene in age, with the possible exception of Chiracha, which may be pre-Holocene. The nearby Holocene fissure basalts located to the west (Mohr and Wood 1976, WoldeGabriel 1987, pers. comm.), may be those of the northern Lake Abaya area of the Hobicha Caldera.---
