Elevated surface temperatures were detected on 19 and 22 October, this may be related to a period of lava dome growth at the volcano.
Cloud cover prevented visual observations on these days.

AVO reported that satellite images of Cleveland from 17 August showed that the summit crater was tephra-covered, funnel-shaped, and contained no lava dome. Cloud cover prevented observations during 28 August-3 September. [details]

A small explosive eruption ocurred at Cleveland volcano on August 19th, at approximately 6:55 PM (local time), the Alaska Volcano Observatory reports. A low level ash cloud was visible on satellite images. It drifted to the southeast and dispersed over several hours. [details]

A small explosion at 08:38 on 4 August was detected based on retrospective analysis of infrasound data. Satellite images showed a brief, faint steam plume about 4 hours after the event and also detected elevated surface temperatures in several clear views of the volcano. ... [details]
