"I felt it" reports:
kapiti / MMI IV (Light shaking): Rolling shaking and woke me up
Upper Hutt (New Zealand) (285 km S from epicenter)(no details): Thee were 2 waves. It was mainly a rumbling noise where I was but I knew it was an earthquake as the ground shook. It was weak and quite different to the other earthquatkes in that the noise was a constant rumbling along with a gentle shake. It stopped after about 40 seconds, then started again weaker and lasted about 10 seconds (via EMSC)
Paraparaumu (New Zealand) (294 km S from epicenter)(no details): started as a strong vibration which lasted about 20 seconds, then changed to a wobble like the big 7's do which lasted another minute at least, the doors were moving back and forth during that time about an inch or so. There was no jolt. (via EMSC)
Napier (New Zealand) (151 km SE from epicenter)(no details): C'est bizarre comme sensation !!! Cela a duré quelques secondes mais fut impressionnant. Des que nous avons senti la secousse nous nous sommes levés, et cela secouait encore. 5.8 d'après le GeoNet de Nouvelle Zélande. (via EMSC)
