Atlantic Caldera Creta Paradise Gerani Crete (55 km E of epicenter) [Map] / Strong shaking (MMI VI) : I was sitting by the pool when my chair started shaking. My wife was asleep on a sun bed by the pool and thought I was shaking her chair to wake her up. I got the last few seconds on my iPhone and uploaded it to YouTube.

Chania, Crete (67.1 km E of epicenter) [Map] / Strong shaking (MMI VI) : I was on the harbourfront inside the old mosque. At first I thought I was dehydrated and my legs were shaking, then it felt like a couple of big waves were moving the ground. It lasted 40-50 secs. No panic but waiters told people to leave the restaurants. We saw no visible damage in Chania centre.

(Greece, 412 km NW of epicenter) : I thought it was me going dizzy as it was hot as hell all day and I needed to drink water, i was up a step ladder working, the ladder was perched in the bath which had a sloping base so the whole job was unstable even before the earthquake. by the time I got down from the ladder and stood still did I realise it was an earthquake and promptly legged it out of the house. Agia Marina (Greece, 56 km E of epicenter) : My first earthquake ever. My partner felt the body waves, she grew up with earthquakes. She noticed the quake first before the Greek employees. Swimming pool spilled over slightly. Very low frequency surface waves with Rayleigh wave maybe below 1Hz. No damage. Weird, drunken feeling when coda waves continued until at least 30 sec. We are on holidays in Crete and at the time of the quake i was sitting with my son on the couch. A second after that i saw the pilar in the room swaying and came to the conclusion we were experiencing a quake. We moved outside but at that time the earthquake was already done.
