Johnshan District, Keelung City, Taiwan, 203 (169.1 km NNE of epicenter) [Map] / Moderate shaking (MMI V) : I live in Keelung, Taiwan. The shaking in my apartment on the 3rd floor was strong. Even my bookcase swayed as did the TV, curtains, computer screen, water bottles and paintings.

hsinchu / Light shaking (MMI IV) : Not so much shaking as rocking--back and forth. Our light was swinging half-a-foot both directions.

Xinying District (Taiwan, 122 km W of epicenter) : It is hard to find my place with the spelling of the Taiwanese cities (reported through EMSC)
Ningbo (China, 692 km N of epicenter) : Felt strongly on high floors (25th floor) of building. (reported through EMSC)
Wugu District (Taiwan, 163 km N of epicenter) : Wugu is 8 Km from Taipei - so we were not that close - I was in L.A. during the Northridge quake in Jan 93 - about the same size, but was closer to that one - here I would say I could feel the quake for about 15 to 20 seconds - it seemed like it was getting a little less then suddenly there was a strong shake (not quite a jolt) and then it dissipated rapidly (reported through EMSC)
Zhongshan District (Taiwan, 171 km N of epicenter) : It set of a couple of car alarms in the street (reported through EMSC)
Banqiao District (Taiwan, 153 km N of epicenter) : It was my first experience of an earthquake. (reported through EMSC)
Dong District (Taiwan, 136 km NW of epicenter) : The slight swaying lasted close to 2 minutes (reported through EMSC)
Wuqi District (Taiwan, 113 km NW of epicenter) : I stay in Taichung,but I received calls from friends up North in Taipei how felt the earthquake , people were leaving the restaurants and buildings into the streets (reported through EMSC)
