Tomisato (Japan) (133 km NE from epicenter)(no details): Movement only for approx 30 sec (via EMSC)
Yoshikawa (Japan) (125 km N from epicenter)(no details): I woke seconds before the earthquake hit. The house started to sway gently, it felt like we were moving 10-15cm side to side. After about 10 seconds it started to intensify, the windows began to rattle etc. I think it was right on the borderline of being comfortable and starting to think this one might get serious. (via EMSC)
Toda (Japan) (112 km N from epicenter)(no details): No shaking, just a gentle roll doors began to swing. (via EMSC)
Taito (Japan) (104 km N from epicenter)(no details): On the 9th floor it got me somewhat nervous. I considered leaving the building afterwards, but am back in bed already : ) (via EMSC)
Shinjuku (Japan) (100 km N from epicenter)(no details): Felt them before and although this wasn't the strongest, it was definitely the scariest as I was 47 floors up! (via EMSC)
Shinjuku (Japan) (96 km N from epicenter)(no details): felt like jello (via EMSC)
Shinjuku (Japan) (96 km N from epicenter)(no details): We were walking through a tunnel when the earthquake happened. While it wasn't hard to stand, the tunnel was shaking visibly. It looked scary. (via EMSC)
Minato (Japan) (94 km N from epicenter)(no details): My guitar fall down! (via EMSC)
Hachioji (Japan) (87 km NW from epicenter)(no details): Staying in a two storey house about 70km from epicentre. Was in bed at 5am and felt swaying for about 10 seconds. This was apparently a seperate quake north of Tokyo. Then about 5.20am the whole house shook for about a minute. Low frequency juddering, like when an aircraft has a hard landing. Felt like an elephant was headbutting the walls. (via EMSC)
Kawasaki (Japan) (79 km NE from epicenter)(no details): Didn't last long. Maybe 20 seconds. There seemed to be a noise about 20-15 seconds before the shaking started (I thought it was one of the grandkids coming down the stairs from the third floor, but when I looked no one was there.... (via EMSC)
Yokohama (Japan) (68 km N from epicenter)(no details): Scared me!! Enough to get on the floor and beg for the shaking to stop. (via EMSC)
Zama (Japan) (68 km N from epicenter)(no details): Strongest quake I've felt here in 8 months. Very jerky motion. Seemed to last close to a minute as the movement slowed and weakened toward the end. (via EMSC)
(Japan) (96 km N from epicenter)(no details): We just arrived in Tokyo last night its our first morning here and we were awoken by the blinds rattling and sounds and it lasted a fair amount of time. We're used to earthquakes in California and this was apparently quite strong, stronger than what we're used to (via EMSC)
Minato (Japan) (96 km N from epicenter)(no details): Building shook for a number of seconds, although quite minor it was enough to instill mild panic and concern for a moment. Did contemplate running naked to the streets but didn't want to upset the locals. No alarms sounded in this building so I expect insignificant. (via EMSC)
Tsukuba (Japan) (152 km NE from epicenter)(no details): not so big, but I was afraid (via EMSC)
