Then we felt more shaking and so got dressed and went downstairs. Then we felt another aftershock and went out side the hotel. We seemed to be alone as we were the only ones outside of our rooms. Perhaps 6.8 earthquakes are a bit more normal here in Japan than in San Diego, California:). And they’re pretty normal in California:).

Misawa-shi, Aomori / MMI V (Moderate shaking)
(Japan) (236 km SW from epicenter)(no details): Seemed like a M ~3 here in Aomori CIty. I was woken up by it and the two aftershocks that followed over two hours later. I was pissed because I didn't get enough sleep (I'm a light sleeper and the previous night was noisy from the outskirts of Typhoon Jebi). I realized, however, after other reactions that it was way worse closer to the epicenter than here, obviously, but also that two people have died and over a hundred are missing so far. Thoughts and prayers for Hokaido, especially Atsuma. (via EMSC)
Misawa (Japan) (232 km S from epicenter)(no details): Shook our tower for about 20 sec (via EMSC)
