An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred only 12 minutes ago 79 km southwest of Minas de Marcona, Peru, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 43 km beneath the epicenter near Minas de Marcona, Provincia de Nazca, Ica, Peru, in the morning on Monday 22 February 2021 at 10:21 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
