Etna volcano (Italy), eruption update: decreasing activity
Lava and ash emissions continue although at very low levels. The violent fissure eruption that started on May 13 from an originally 600 m long east-trending fissure parting from the NE base of the SE crater at around 2900 m elevation decreased surprisingly quickly in intensity. INGV-CT reported continuous ash emission and periodic Strombolian activity from multiple vents, possibly along an E-trending fissure E of Etna's summit craters, during 10-19 May.
