Eruptions du volcan Etna:
En activité quasi permanente ; certaines grandes éruptions historiques telles que : en 122 BC (éruption explosive du sommet), AD 1669 (éruption sur le flanc sud dévastatrice), 1787 (l'une des plus spectaculaires éruptions au sommet enregistrée - fontaines de lave, semble-t-il, jusqu'à 3000 m de haut).

Style éruptif tipique:
Effusive (coulée de lave et fontaine de lave) et explosive avec des éruptions modérées stromboliennes et parfois phréatomagmatiques. Les deux types d’activités éruptives ont lieu fréquemment au sommet et sur ses flancs. Ses éruptions latérales au niveau des flancs, semblent se regrouper sur des laps de temps d’environs quelques dizaines d’années

Etna volcano update: Strombolian eruptions and lava flow

The new eruptive phase continues. Dense cloud cover has prevented detailed observations, but from occasional clearings and other observations, it seems that the intense strombolian eruptions are going on from a vent between the old and New SE crater, feeding a lava flow, at least 2.5 km long onto the southwestern slope.
Tremor remains high.

Occasional explosions from the New SE crater seem to continue. Small ash emissions could be observed on the morning of 22 Oct when clear weather allowed clear views of the crater. Tremor remains low at the moment. [details]
