Ash emission on 29 Dec (INGEOMINAS)
Mild ash explosions continue to occur sporadically at the volcano, such as recently seen on 29 Dec. For the month of December, this is the 6th time ash emissions were observed (although more could have occurred and gone unnoticed during times of bad weather). In comparison, there have been 2 emissions observed in November, 12 in October, and 5 in September.

Small ash emission observed from the Pasto Volcano Observatory on 17 Dec (INGEOMINAS)
Occasional weak ash explosions occur from time to time, such as observed during exceptionally clear weather yesterday.
jeu., 15 nov. 2012, 07:45
Seismic activity fluctuated both in occurrence and strength of earthquakes, mainly related fluid movements within volcanic conduits. Some of these earthquakes were associated with degassing. Some quakes were accompanied by observed ash emissions.
mer., 7 nov. 2012, 09:06
Seismic activity remained at fluctuating levels with a slight decrease compared to the previous week. Occasional gas and ash emissions were observed.
lun., 29 oct. 2012, 11:05
Ash explosion on 28 Oct (INGEOMINAS)
Occasional small ash eruptions continue to occur at the volcano, such as today.
lun., 22 oct. 2012, 10:05
Ash emission from Galeras on 21 Oct (Pasto Observatory, INGEOMINAS)
Occasional ash emissions with plumes up to 1200 m high have been observed and photographed at Galeras volcano on 19 and 21 October. Seismic activity remains low with only few occasional events visible on the seismograms.
mer., 17 oct. 2012, 10:05
Low-energy seismic activity continues at fluctuating levels and there are sometimes small gas and ash emissions.
ven., 12 oct. 2012, 06:37
Seismicity remains at low energy levels overall with a slight increase against the previous week. Sometimes this seismicity is associated with gas and ash emissions.
mer., 3 oct. 2012, 10:01
Current seismic signal from Galeras ANGV station on October 3 (Weber County)
On September 28, swarms of earthquakes occurred of low energy at shallow depths (less than 8 km) at distances up to 13 km and magnitudes of up to 1.4. ...plus
mer., 26 sept. 2012, 09:26
Seismicity associated with fluid motion in volcanic conduits continued at low levels. Sometimes this seismicity is associated with gas and ash emissions. At dawn on September 25, a swarm of earthquakes occurred related to fracturing of crustal material, with low energy events, located about 2 km west of the active crater, with depths close to 3 km above the top and magnitudes below 1 in the Richter scale. ...plus

: Experience one of the geologically most active areas on the planet: the Danakil desert in northern Ethiopia. Highlights include Erta Ale volcano with its active lava lake and Dallol hydrothermal fields offering a surreal landscape of colors, salt, geysers and springs.
: In the afternoon of 17 Oct, a particularly violent explosion occurred at Anak Krakatau, blasting away a portion of the southern crater rim. A similar event might have been the final trigger for the catastrophic landslide that let the cone collapse and cause a devastating tsunami on 22 Dec 2018.
Krakatau volcano photos
: Hundreds of photos from active Krakatau volcano in the Sunda Strait, Indonesia. Most of them taken during our various expeditions to this fascinating volcano.
