Activity has been low recently. It appears that the growth of the summit lava dome has paused or stopped. KVERT now keeps the volcano on level "green".

VAAC Tokyo reported an ash plume drifting at 13,000 ft (4 km) altitude from the volcano this morning at 05:28 UTC. Webcam images show a sustained steam-gas plume that might contain some ash. Extrusion of magma at the lava dome has been weak recently, but it remains active.

The volcano continues to extrude a viscous lava flow from the summit vent, producing hot avalanches on the western and eastern flanks and strong degassing. KVERT reports moderate seismic activity.
