The starting period of the first three eruptions was really intense as they occurred in a time range of 46 minutes, there was even 2 minutes difference (22:53 and 22:55 local time on 16 July) between the first and the second explosion. Eruptions generated dense dark ash plumes as usual, which reached approximately 5,400 ft (1,657 m) altitude and drifted NE.
The rest of the explosions on 17 July and today seemed to be relatively violent, characterized by typical powerful vulcanian-type events. Ash columns rose 2,5 km above the summit crater, proving the force of the eruptions.
