Heat signal from Michael volcano (MIROVA)
A new eruption is likely underway at the remote volcano (also called like the whole island, Saunders). Since mid October, prominent heat signals coming from the summit of Michael cone can be retrieved on satellite data, but there are no direct (visual or other) observations. ...plus

One of the remotest active volcanoes is in eruption again. In a satellite image from 26 August 2015 obtained from the NASA's Earth Explorer program, the east flank of Mount Michael volcano can be seen stained grey which strongly indicates that an eruption took place.

The MODIS TERRA and AQUA satellites detected 4 thermal anomalies at Michael on 14 November suggesting that some significant activity has started there.

Hot spot at Michael volcano's summit on 2 Oct (MODIS, univ. Hawai'i)
A thermal hotspot was visible today on MODIS satellite imagery, suggesting that new activity is taking place, possibly a small lava lake forming as during periods of activity in recent years.
