Milos Island, Greece: news

Milos is part of the Hellenic volcanic arc and probably still is an active volcano. It has a very active hydrothermal system for sure. Future eruptions are not likely, but possible. On this page, we post updates about its activity and other news from time to time.

Earthquake near Milos Island on 3 Dec 2011

An earthquake of 3,6 Richter scale is reported from the area west of the Milos volcanoes archipelago. It happened on 3 Dec 2011 21:07 in a depth of ca. 10 km beneath the sea.
