An impressive steam plume is rising from Kamokuna sea entry at Kilauea volcano, Hawai'i.
The lava erupts to the surface at the volcano's eastern rift zone at the Pu'u O'o vent and flows for many miles through an underground lava tube until it reaches the coast.
The lava entry shown here has been going on since July 2016 and has been enlarging the Island of Hawai'i by building a fragile delta of new land. (Photo: Tom Pfeiffer)
