Puyehue-Cordón Caulle volcano (Central Chile and Argentina, South America) activity update: alert level lowered back to green

ONEMI has decreased the alert level of the volcano for the nearby villages (Futrono, Lago Ranco,Río Bueno, Puyehue) to the lowest level "alerta Temprana". Seismic activity has decreased and there is no mor tremor recorded. SERNAGEOMIN has also reduced the activity level back to green.

OVDAS-SERNAGEOMIN reported that, although cloud cover often prevented observations during 17-22 April, satellite and web camera views of the Cordón Caulle rift zone, part of the Puyehue-Cordón Caulle volcanic complex, occasionally showed plumes that rose no higher than 400 m above the crater.
