Rancho Palos Verdes / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 20-30 s : There was a crackling, booming sound first, that lasted about 10 seconds. I was near French glass doors, and they shook suddenly back and forth. They were dead-bolted closed, so the movement had to be strong to cause them to rattle as loud, and as long, as they did. The rattling noise lasted about 10 seconds. I thought about going outside in case it was just the beginning of a large quake, but nothing more happened. I turned on the radio, and the local TV news, but I saw no report of a quake. I
