Just 14 minutes ago, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Fayzabad, Faīẕābād, Badakhshan, Afghanistan. The tremor was recorded around noon on Monday 10 May 2021 at 12:04 pm local time, at an intermediate to considerable depth of 174 km below the surface.

The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Ashkāsham (pop. 12,100, 50 km away), Jurm (pop. 12,100, 50 km away), Ishqoshim (pop. 26,000, 58 km away), and Fayzabad (pop. 44,400, 86 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
