A magnitude 4.9 earthquake near Yuxi, Yunnan, China, was reported only 24 minutes ago by Thailand's Earthquake Observation Division (TMD), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Wednesday 16 June 2021 at 3:35 pm local time.
