Moderate yet deep magnitude 5.6 quake hits 116 km northeast of Maumere, Indonesia around noon

Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.6 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 5.8.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Maumere (pop. 47,600) located 116 km from the epicenter.
