4.2 quake 18 km west of Sullana, Piura, Peru, Sep 16, 2021 5:14 am (GMT -5)

Just 13 minutes ago, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Sullana, Provincia de Sullana, Piura, Peru. The tremor was recorded early morning on Thursday, September 16th, 2021, at 5:14 am local time, at a shallow depth of 28 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Chalaco (pop. 74) located 7 km from the epicenter, Marcavelica (pop. 25,600) 15 km away, Sullana (pop. 160,800) 18 km away, and Querecotillo (pop. 25,400) 22 km away.
