Style éruptif tipique:Fortement explosif. Construction de dômes de lave et de grandes coulées pyroclastiques causées par l'écroulement de dôme. Un des volcans les plus grands et des plus actifs du Kamtchatka.

Shiveluch volcano (Kamchatka) activity update: lava flow on NW flank, growing lava dome, occasional explosions

KVERT reported that during 21-28 September a viscous lava flow continued to effuse on the NW flank of Shiveluch's lava dome, accompanied by hot avalanches and fumarolic activity.
Satellite imagery showed a thermal anomaly on the lava dome on 21, 23, and 27 September. The Aviation Color Code remained at Orange.

A new explosion occurred at Sheveluch volcano on 23:19 GMT on 17 Sep. Based on pilot observations, VAAC Anchorage reports an ash plume to flight level 270, i.e. 27,000 ft altitude (about 8 km). The ash plume is moving rapidly to the SE.
