Style éruptif tipique:
Fortement explosif. Construction de dômes de lave et de grandes coulées pyroclastiques causées par l'écroulement de dôme. Un des volcans les plus grands et des plus actifs du Kamtchatka.

Shiveluch volcano (Kamchatka): strong explosion on Sunday, ash to 8 km altitude

A strong vulcanian explosion occurred on Sunday, sending an ash plume to an altitude of approx. 8 km above the volcano.
No pyroclastic flows seem to have been produced by the explosion. The plume spread eastwards and could be seen extending for more than 200 km distance.
