A total solar eclipse will occur on 9 March 2016 and be visible in SE Asia and parts of the Pacific. The islands around Ternate in the Molucca Sea of Indonesia are located on or near the center line of the eclipse and are regarded as possibly among the best locations to see this unique natural spectacle.
We will choose the most promising spot as close to the center line as possible: the top of Makian or Moti islands, both almost exactly on the center line of the eclips'e path, giving more than 3 full minutes of totality!
We take the occasion to combine this with a volcano tour with our great volcano team in Indonesia. If you're interested, hurry up to sign up - seats on flights in particular must be reserved very early!
More information about the eclipse itself can be best found on Nasa's website.
  • Solar Eclipse from an active volcano
  • More than 3 minutes of totality almost on centerline
  • Tropical setting in the charming Molucca Sea
  • Volcano adventures combined
  • Great food
