Another ash eruption, but significantly smaller than the one from 29 Oct, occurred last Friday at 13:46 local time.
The explosion followed a weak of calm but was preceded by an increase in seismic activity. Weak ash fall occurred in nearby downwind areas.

A relatively large explosion occurred at the volcano last night at 23:40 local time. According to local news, the eruption lasted about 45 minutes and was accompanied by strong seismic activity, which was felt by the local population. ... [details]

The volcano could be becoming more active with increased degassing. An elevated SO2 concentration in the atmosphere above and near the volcano was visible on satellite data yesterday. Seismic activity appears to be elevated.

A significant earthquake swarm has started late on 13 July at the volcano and is continuing. This could indicate a rise of magma in progress and eventually lead to new eruptions in the near future. [details]
