Alert Level raised for Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka
In a special notice by the KVERT(Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team)on 27 November, the Alert Level was raised from GREEN to YELLOW. The volcano's last eruption was in 1975 with a large basaltic fissure eruption from its SSW flank dubbed 'the great Tolbachik fissure eruption'

Starting on the 7 November, several episodes of volcanic tremor were detected beneath Tolbachik's summit caldera.
The number of shallow volcanic earthquakes increased to 250 on November 26. According to data from seismic stations, a strong seismic event occurred at 5:52 (UTC) on November 27. The KVERT noted that magma intrusion may be already occurring. The Alert Level was raised from GREEN to YELLOW.
The KVERT have yet to detect any other signs of activity, such as strong gas and steam activity and thermal anomalies.
