Fuego volcano (Guatemala): paroxysm during 10-13 October 2015

Lava flows on Fuego volcano on 10 Oct 15 (INSIVUMEH)
View of the summit of Fuego on 13 Oct, with the new cone now being its highest peak
Another paroxysm, the 9th this year, occurred at the volcano during 10-13 Oct. Strongly increased lava effusion and violent strombolian activity produced intermittent lava fountaining up to 300 m high, and re-alimented the two lava flows on the southern and western slopes, which reached 1000 and 1300 m length.
Small pyroclastic flows occurred when parts of the lava flows on the steep slope collapsed. A new cone has formed around one of the two active vents on the rim of the volcano's summit crater and now forms its highest point.

Activity has calmed down. Explosions have been only of smaller size, but the lava flows on the upper southern and western flanks remained weakly active last evening.
Thursday, Oct 08, 2015
Another phase of strongly increased activity is occurring at the volcano. Starting 6 Oct, strombolian activity increased to pulsating lava fountains from two summit vents and feeds two lava flows that started to descend the southern and western flanks of the volcano through the Trinidad and Santa Teresa canyon, reaching 1000 and 600 m, respectively. ...

A phase of increased activity with lava flow effusion occurred during the past days, but has subsided by now again. ...
Friday, Sep 04, 2015
Another short, but unusually strong eruptive phase took place at the volcano between Wednesday (30 Aug) and yesterday (3 Sep). The volcano has now returned to average activity levels. ...
Monday, Aug 24, 2015
The volcano's activity remains low to moderate.
