The Funagata volcanic complex consists of two basaltic-to-andesitic stratovolcanoes NW of Sendai City. Funagata-yama was active about 0.9-0.5 million years ago and Izumiga-take volcano about 1.5-1.1 million years ago (Nakano et al., 2001-).---
