On 14 September, a seismic network of the PVMBG local observatory registered an increased number of volcano-tectonic earthquakes beneath the volcano.
9 quakes have been detected with a maximum amplitude of 2-3 mm and a duration of 8-14 seconds.
Prior to the elevated seismic measurements, the activity at the volcano has continued at fluctuating levels characterized mainly by local tectonic earthquakes.
White-to-brown gas emissions continue to be observed about 5-250 meters above the summit crater.
The Volcanic Alert Level remains at Level 2.
People are advised to avoid the main crater within a radius of 1,5 km.
